Abstract:
The project focused on the develoment of design techniques that embody ideas of speed and innovation in the car industry - in particularly in Ferrari. Maximalism is an assemblage of complex yet refined qualities that come out of the techniques; the techniques are accumulated to excess. The new headquarters house a research and development facility built on the site of their current test track in Maranello, Italy. Formula 1 test tracks are specifically designed to challenge drivers and their vehicles to maneuver different forms of of turns at varying speeds. The track itself penetrates through the building exposing patrons and company of the immense speed of Ferrari; and the feeling, sound and smell of that speed.
